A snack bar in Pracinha, Fajã d’Água, has postponed its opening, originally scheduled for October 2, due to water and electricity problems

As Joaquim Lopes, the manager of the facility, explained, the lack of street lighting, the absence of running water, and the limitations of the electrical system ultimately made it impossible to open on the originally scheduled date.

In a statement, Joaquim Lopes lamented the situation and explained that, despite the efforts made in recent days to try to resolve the problems, the necessary conditions have not yet been met.

“The snack bar won’t be able to open tomorrow. That place has no electrical connection, nor does it have running water. Can you imagine? That place has only one outlet, and there’s no street lighting. We’ve been working on this every day, but they still haven’t managed to resolve that problem.”

The manager thus makes it clear that the postponement is not due to a lack of willingness or preparation for the opening, but rather to the difficulties encountered at the location itself, specifically regarding access to basic services considered essential for the snack bar’s operation.

The new opening date has not yet been announced. Joaquim Lopes hopes the problems can be resolved as soon as possible, allowing the space to finally begin welcoming customers and helping to revitalize the Fajã d’Água area.

The opening of Lanchonete na Pracinha had been eagerly anticipated, especially since it is a new space for socializing and providing services to the community. The hope now is that, once the infrastructure challenges are overcome, a new opening date can be announced.
